WOOD BORING WORMS INFEST DOCKS & PILINGS

Consider wood boring worms the "termites of the water". And, if your marine project has unprotected pilings in the water, you are 100% GUARANTEED to have wood boring worms infesting your sturdy foundation. In addition to marine wood borers, ship worms and limnoria (commonly known as gribbles), also cause significant damage in coastal areas. With the uncontrollable infestation of these dock destroyers, waterfront property owners everywhere are wondering how to protect their waterfront property. Deep South Marine Restoration is ready to help you protect new docks or repair old pilings.

"Untreated dock pilings may last less than a month in Gulf areas like East Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida."

Is it Time to Replace Your Pilings?

Are your dock pilings cracked, rotten, or falling apart? Replacing pilings or docks is not the only option you should consider. When you work with Deep South, there is a more affordable solution than replacement. Deep South has developed a process to restore damaged pilings to their full potential even if they have failed completely. Replacing them can be much more expensive and damaging to your property than a simple restoration.

First, a pile driving company has to mobilize a machine to come out to your property. That machine could potentially drive across your property to reach the project area, causing ruts or track marks across your property. All of this adds up to a lot of extra money!

OUR DIVERS CAN ACCESS THE AREA FROM ALMOST ANYWHERE!

The first thing we do is inspect the area, and tell you the status of each of your pier piles. We are also the most affordable option for your budget. We can fully restore your waterfront property through our piling encapsulation process, even if it has completely failed.

SO, WHAT IS PILING ENCAPSULATION?

Encapsulation is a process where we encase the entire piling in concrete to increase its integrity. This restores your dock, boathouse, or even your lake home back to its best condition.

Unfortunately, most property owners do not call us until they have seen some extensive failures in the foundation of their piers or docks. Our process of protecting pilings could save all damage from happening before it ever started. Most of the damage you see is caused by pests that bore deep into the wood and, similar to termites, destroy it inside and out.

Over time, your wooden pilings will eventually fail and could cause your home or dock to degrade. This is never an acceptable option, so we set out to keep that from happening.

Our process involves protecting your pilings instead of replacing them and includes our patent pending wrap system.

So, how does the wrap protection system work? It protects your pilings from the infiltration of the wood boring worms that cause most of the damage to pilings all over the Gulf Coast.

  1. When Deep South Marine applies the wrap system, we first inspect every inch to be sure that the integrity has not been compromised before we begin. By doing this we are ensuring your safety.
  2. Once we are sure the piling is intact, we use a special coating to seal it and eliminate the existing worms that may be calling your dock "home".
  3. After sealing is complete, we place a PVC based wrap around the structure that protects from any other pests finding their way in and causing any further damage.

By protecting your pilings, you are protecting your investment and your family. If a piling fails to the point of collapsing your entire pier, it could lead to serious injury. Protect your pilings, and if some have already passed the point of protecting, let us restore them before it is too late. We work hard so you can stop the marine growth eating away at your piers. Without a suitable dock and piling protection system, you only prolong the inevitable ship worm damage to your gulf coast docks and pilings. Protect your dock pilings and your investment with our affordable piling protection system.

Protecting your pilings can be THOUSANDS less than replacing or restoring them down the road should they remain unprotected. If your structure is showing signs of wear, do yourself a favor and contact Deep South today.
