Piling Wraps: Stop the Damage Before It Destroys Your Dock
Our patent-pending marine-grade piling wrap system creates an impenetrable barrier against wood-boring organisms, saltwater, and UV degradation — installed directly over your existing pilings.
Are your marine dock pilings showing signs of damage from years of wood boring worms? Do you know how to identify damage from marine wood borers? If you are showing any signs of piling damage, outside of expensive pier replacement, dock piling repair is likely your only option. Deep South Marine Restoration centrally located in Slidell, Louisiana can repair those damaged pilings like new with our state of the art piling wrapping system. We offer full installation of dock piling wraps, dock piling covers, and piling concrete reinforcement throughout New Orleans and Baton Rouge and across Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Texas, and Florida.
The Piling Wrapping Process
For newer piles, piling wraps may be the best option to protect. Wondering what the piling wrapping process looks like? Below are a few steps in our process:
- First, we'll clean and scrape any existing debris.
- Next, an inner barrier will be wrapped around the pile and covered with a specially produced PVC jacket to stop water from penetrating the wood piling.
- The lack of oxygenated water will starve any existing worms and free your piles of further damage.
This wrapping and protection is perfect also for boat dock repair or bulkhead repair.

Frequently Asked Questions
Get answers to common questions about dock piling repair, protection, and restoration.
A piling wrap is a marine-grade protective sleeve installed around an existing dock piling. Our patent-pending wrap forms a physical barrier that blocks wood-boring organisms like Teredo shipworms and Limnoria crustaceans from accessing the wood. The wrap seals against saltwater intrusion and biological growth, preserving the structural integrity of the piling underneath.
Deep South Marine Restoration's piling wraps are engineered for Gulf Coast conditions — UV exposure, saltwater, tidal cycles, and storm surge. When properly installed, the wrap system significantly outlasts unprotected wood pilings and dramatically extends service life.
Yes — that's the whole point. Our system is designed to work on existing pilings that still have structural integrity. We perform a free inspection to confirm load-bearing capacity, then install the wrap around the standing piling. No pile driving, no demolition, no disruption to your dock structure in most cases.
Absolutely. While the primary threat in saltwater is Teredo worms and marine boring organisms, freshwater pilings face different biological threats plus UV degradation and moisture cycling. Our wraps protect against all of these. Call us to discuss the specific conditions at your waterfront property.
Piling wraps are typically 40–70% less expensive than full piling replacement when you factor in materials, labor, permits, and the cost of rebuilding dock sections around new pilings. We provide free on-site inspections and transparent quotes so you know exactly what you're looking at before committing.
